Top Ten Tuesday – Book series I need to start or finish reading in 2019

Hi everyone! I’m back with my third Top Ten Tuesday post and this week’s prompt is to list the top 10 Standalone Books That Need a Sequel. However, I made a change as I did in my last Top Ten Tuesday prompt.

Top Ten Tuesday graphic
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

So, I can definitely remember a couple of standalones that I’d love a sequel to but I’m going to add a twist of my own to this prompt. My prompt will be about the Top Ten series that I need to start or finish reading in 2019.

Scarlet CinderWinter

  1.  The Lunar Chronicles:  I have read Cinder, the first book in the series and completely forgot to read Scarlet, Cress, and Winter. Even though there are 4 or 5 novellas, I am sorry to say that I don’t have the time to read those #NeverthoughtI’dsaythat

Illuminae

2. The Illuminae Files The Illuminae Files trilogy by authors Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff has been on my TBR for a year(I think). Somehow, I never pick it up but I have seen many of my blogger and bookstagram friends recommend it so I hope I can start reading the series this year

The Winter of the Witch

3. The Winternight Trilogy: I loved reading The Bear and the Nightingale and The Girl in the Tower so much that I had to stop myself from reading the final book in the trilogy, The Winter of the Witch.

Six of Crows

4Six of Crows duologyThis duology is yet another book to which I say, “I’ll you soon!” or “I’ll add you to this month’s TBR.” or “I’ll surely read you next year! See? Added you to my neverending TBR list” I really hope I can finish this duo this year because I can’t meet with my Nikolai otherwise.

The Winner's Curse

5. The Winner’s Trilogy by Marie RutkoskiI read The Winner’s Curse so long ago that I had forgotten about it. I definitely need to finish this trilogy.

Legend by Marie Lu

6. Legend by Marie LuAnother highly recommended series I need to finish. *screams “HELP ME”*

Shatter Me

7. Shatter Me series by Tahereh MafiI need Defy Me in my hands right nowwwwwww!!! Besides Kenji’s novella, I’ve read it all.

This Mortal Coil

8. This Mortal Coil by Emily SuvadaAnother underrated -but highly recommended by some bookstagrammers- series that I’ve added to my cart and on my Goodreads TBR but I’ve never checked it out.

Shades of Magic

9. Shades of Magic by V.E. Schwab: I discovered this series waaayyy before blogging and bookstagram and I have never picked it up. It’s on my Goodreads TBR and I hope I will read it this year.

Muse of Nightmares

10. Strange the dreamer duology: It has been so long since I’ve read Strange the Dreamer and by now, I have acquired two editions of Muse of Nightmares but they’re just sitting on my shelf *facepalms^(infinity)*.

That’s a wrap on today’s Top Ten Tuesday post featuring Top Ten series that I need to start or finish reading in 2019.

Thank you for reading

I have already read Pride and Prejudice and Wuthering Heights so I have yet to read Villette and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.
